Different slangs and sayings from Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean long with their meanings ( Trinbagonian and Caribbean slangs) By : *tinyblogs*

Haiiii, I'm back with another post but today it does not have anything to do with k-pop. This blog is so that you can actually get an insight as to how I really speak because I actually don't really speak in standard/ proper English all of the time, I actually speak in my local dialect. It's basically a mixture of  broken English,French and Spanish with a bit of standard English here and there.😁

Slang number 1. Yuh fadda is a glassmaker? - This simply means you are blocking me.

Slang number 2. yuh rel like tuh maco - you really like to mind everybody's

Gyal - girl ( you might hear a lot of Western industry singers  like Jason Derulo ( even tho he has Caribbean roots) for example use this word, honestly when ever people outside of the Caribbean uses this slang is sounds really cringy.) ( sorry if I offended anyone  I didn't mean to, but it is the truth)

Aye - hey

Ax - ask

Licks - when you get beaten by your parents as a form of decipline like how some people would say your parents whooped you, it  basically means the same thing.

Obeah - black magic or voodoo ( you say it like oh - bee - ah)

Ketch - catch

Own way - a very stubborn person

Shades - sunglasses

Bligh - break

Teef -  trini pronunciation of thief

Umpteen - you'll only hear this when someone is fed up if telling you the same thing over and over. It basically means they are tired of telling you whatever they are telling you over and over . you'll most likely hear this phrase anytime this word is used " for the umpteenth time I told to do so and so "

Fadda/ Faddah - means father

Yuh fadda head - this is an expression of annoyance.

That's all for my post. I'm probably too lazy or maybe just tired to finish it . I'll be uploading a second part to it  , it may not be now but I'll do it at some point.

Hope that this helped you learn a bit about my culture and country as to how we speak.

And one more thing

Byeeeee love ya πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Hope that you continue to love yourself for who you are and I love you πŸ’– even tho I'm not sure who you are.
