My Thoughts On Aespa Giselle Mouthing The N-word And Her Apology For It
So today's topic is basically just going be, me expressing my thoughts and opinions on the whole situation with Aespa's Giselle saying/ mouthing the n-word.
So first things first before we bet into today's topic I would just like to put out a few guidelines for this topic. So the guidelines are as follows,
- Please refrain from coping my work
- The purpose of this post is not to hate on the artist mentioned in this article but to bring awareness to the fact that they did something wrong, so please don't send hate to anyone
- Please be respectful to everyone in the comments please
- π« ABSOLUTELY NO TOXIC AESPA FANS IN THE COMMENTSπ«
Just a disclosure I know with this topic that black people are the only ones who would have a say in this and like I stated before this is just my opinions on it as a whole and in case you were wondering yes I am black ... I will be allowing the non-black people in the comments also view their opinions on this topic ..but don't say its just a word because it isn't.
So miss Giselle of Aespa, decided on mouthing , the n-word on camera, while listening to SZA Love Galore.... (I'm not gonna go deep into this topic right now in this post because it seems to be a really repetitive and reoccurring situation in k-pop now... But later on I may consider making this a like a kind of like a series but I'm not certain yet)
Its really surprising how Giselle doing this is really hard to believe when she's the only member in Aespa who's extremely fluent in English..managed to "slip up " and mouth a racial slur.. I'm not sure if she's well aware that she has fans that are of colour and that that term that she mouthed is a derogatory term that's supposedly used against them, and her being fluent in English as mentioned above, and knowingly mouthing this term, just doesn't add up..
Probably by this point, some of you may be probably saying why are black people incorporating the n-word in their songs if they don't want non-black people saying it. Well to be completely honest I don't know why they place that word in their songs. Maybe it might be a sign of them taking back a word that was once used against them to be used amongst themselves.. Because for example a black man could call another black man his n-word and they'll be okay with it , which is understandable because they are using it amongst themselves which would in turn be deemed as acceptable but to say if a non-black person like a Caucasian person for example calls a black man his n-word it would be deemed as unacceptable because I guess of the how it was used during times of slavery and is a racist slur..... In other cases it could be that the non-black person may say the word without any kind of knowledge behind the word which is understandable in my opinion, because they said it without mal- intent but they should be educated on it right away so that they don't make that mistake again.
